"We are wired to connect with those younger than we are and to help create a better future. Older people were put on the earth to nurture the young. Biology flows downhill." --George Vaillant, Harvard University Professor ChaiVillageLA members are invited to attend a special meeting to learn about the multigenerational programs that have been funded by our Natan Fund grant. A wonderful mix of social justice, art, writing and exchanging ideas, the programs include:
• Working With Artists to Create Life Stories (The Braid: Jewish Women’s Theatre) - with millennials
•Shabbat Schmooze (Moishe House) - with millennials
•PASSPORT (Temple Emanuel High School Program) - with high-schoolers
•Sages and Seekers - with high-schoolers and college students
•Storytelling Through Writing - younger participants TBD
Each program will bring ChaiVillageLA members together with younger participants, providing opportunities to draw upon collective life experiences and wisdom and to exchange ideas, thoughts, concerns and dreams. Village members will be given an opportunity to apply for a program immediately after this session.
