Join us for the first ever ChaiVillageLA Book Group!

The ChaiVillageLA Book Group will Meet on
the Third Monday of Every Month at 2 PM.

This month we will be discussing "The Last Kings of Shanghai" by Jonathan Kaufman. The discussion will be facilitated by Myrna Hant.

About the Book:
"The Sassoons and the Kadoories - two Jewish families from Baghdad - had long been successful in business, politics, and society. They kept up their intrigues and opium smuggling while helping to rescue 18,000 Jews from Hitler's Europe, and though they soon faced the tsunami that was communism, their legacy remains today."

"The Last Kings of Shanghai" is available on Kindle and Amazon Prime for $14.99 and may be available at your local library. Please read the book in advance.
