About Jacob Silverman:
Jacob is a staff writer at The New Republic, where he covers technology and foreign policy. He is also a longtime freelance journalist writing about surveillance, media, culture, and other issues. He is the author of "Terms of Service: Social Media and the Price of Constant Connection" (HarperCollins, 2015).
Jacob's work has been published in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Slate, the Atlantic, the New Republic, and many other publications. In 2008 the Virginia Quarterly Review recognized him as one of the top literary critics under thirty, and in 2012 he became a three-time Jeopardy! champion.
Jacob previously facilitated discussions for ChaiVillageLA on the documentary movies The Social Dilemma and The Dissident.
Jacob is the son of ChaiVillageLA members Loretta Siciliano and Scott Silverman.
