About Andrea Bowers:
For more than thirty years Andrea Bowers, a Los Angeles based artist, has combined artistic practice with activism and advocacy. She has built an international reputation as a chronicler of contemporary history. She deals with issues such as women's rights, immigration rights, workers' rights, and climate justice, illustrating the shared pursuit of justice that connects them all. Her works are on display in museums worldwide, including the Whitney in New York, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
This is Andrea Bowers' first museum retrospective surveying more than two decades of her work. It is co-curated by the Hammer and Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
