Captioning Eyeglasses: For Hearing Loss

About this event

Do you have difficulty hearing
in variety of settings?

JOIN US TO FIND OUT ABOUT THESE INNOVATIVE EYEGLASSES THAT HAVE BEEN CALLED “LIFE-CHANGING”.

Join us on Zoom as we hear about this game-changing new technology–eyeglasses that display real-time speech transcription on their lenses.  We will learn who can benefit most from these glasses are and how they work. We will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

Our speaker will be Alex Westner CEO of Xander glasses, whose primary purpose is to assist people who have hearing challenges, by enabling them to understand speech and participate in conversation in a natural way. XanderGlasses translate speech to text in real time and project accurate captions of conversations that are visible to the wearer only.

About Alex Westner:
After graduating from the MIT Media Lab with an MS in acoustics and audio signal processing, Alex spent most of his career in audio and music technology. Steven Hawkin's last book inspired him to think about people with disabilities when  imagining the future of technology. After delving into augmented reality, machine learning, vision, and  hearing loss, he converged on the idea of  providing visual information to people with hearing loss.
