We Discover: Jewish Communities Around the World - Synagogues of India



India's synagogues are wondrous spaces as diverse as its communities.

We will learn about the  the characteristics of each of these geographic areas. We will  explore the history of India's Jewish Communities and their relationship to the local populations as we visit synagogues in Mumbai, Calcutta, and Colchin. 

About Our Guide Rahel:

Rahel is a seventh generation Calcutta Jew who today lives in Roslyn, N.Y. She is an award-winning journalist, author, singer, speaker and educator. Rahel leads Jewish Heritage tours to India twice a year, in February and November, and hopes to continue these soon.

There is a $6.00 charge per Zoom square for this event. Couples sharing a screen can register once.

The purpose of the attendance fee is to help defray the cost of the program.
