Jeffrey Ellis will lead us in a discussion of  two movies that were produced eighty years apart but are linked in many ways.

CITIZEN KANE ( 1941)  "Orson Welles's epic tale of a publishing tycoon's rise and fall is entertaining, poignant, and inventive in its story telling,  earning its reputation as a landmark achievement in film"( Rotten Tomatoes). Acclaimed by many as the greatest film ever made, it stars  Orson Welles, Agnes Moorehead, and Joseph Cotton. 

MANK ( 2020) "...peers behind the scenes of Citizen Kane to tell an old Hollywood story that could end up being a classic in its own right"( Rotten Tomatoes). Directed by David Fincher, its stars include Gary Oldham, Amanda Seyfried, and Lily Collins

Mank will be released on Netflix on Dec 4th.
