Film Discussion: Two Classic Courtroom Dramas



We will be analyzing two acclaimed "Courtroom" movies:

Witness for the Prosecution (1957), a movie with film-noir elements, stars Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich and Charles Laughton. It focused on a murder trial  set in the Old Bailey in London.

Inherit the Wind (1960) stars Spencer Tracy and Frederick March. it is based on a play which fictionalizes the Scopes "Monkey Trial" as a means to discussing McCarthyism. 

Both movies are available to stream on Amazon Prime.  You can also check availability  on Kanopy or look for the DVDs at your local library. 

We recommend you watch both movies in order to participate in the discussion.
