What's Next for Facebook?



 

Facebook has been facing criticism on many fronts. What's next for Facebook—or Meta, as it will soon be renaming itself? Jacob Silverman, a staff writer at the New Republic,  will guide us  in a discussion on the future of Facebook in  the light of  whistleblower claims and other disclosures .

In order to prepare for what will be a fascinating discussion, it is suggested that you listen to "The Daily," The New York Time's Podcast of October 6th and read the following articles:

About Jacob Silverman:
Jacob
 is a staff writer at The New Republic, where he covers technology and foreign policy. He is also a longtime freelance journalist writing about surveillance, media, culture, and other issues. He is the author of "Terms of Service: Social Media and the Price of Constant Connection" (HarperCollins, 2015). 

Jacob's  work has been published in The New York TimesThe Los Angeles TimesSlate, the Atlantic, the New Republic, and many other publications. In 2008 the Virginia Quarterly Review recognized him as one of the top literary critics under thirty, and in 2012 he became a three-time Jeopardy! champion.
