Israel Today: Human Rights, Refugee Crisis and the Future of Democracy

Join J Street, Temple Isaiah, Temple Israel of Hollywood and HIAS for a conversation with Israeli politician, former Member of Knesset and journalist Ksenia Svetlova. Rabbi Dara Frimmer will moderate as Svetlova talks with us about the upcoming Israeli elections, the future of a two-state solution, the Abraham Accords, and the rights of refugees, Jewish and otherwise.

Ksenia Svetlova, an immigrant to Israel from Moscow, has interviewed Yassar Arafat, Ahmed Yassin and Mahmoud Abbas. As a Knesset member from 2015-2019, she headed the caucuses for the protection of the heritage and culture of Jews from Arab and Islamic countries, freedom of speech and expression and supporting the ties between Israel and the Kurdish nation.
